History

Travelers Financial was founded in 1986, commencing business as a brokerage firm in the mid-market equipment leasing business. Operations were diversified in 1993 with the acquisition of a consumer acceptance company, Travelers Acceptance Corporation. Further diversification was achieved in 1995 with the acquisition of Custom Lease, an auto leasing company now known as Travelers Leasing Corporation Inc. The “Group” was expanded again in late 1999 with the acquisition of an equipment leasing company in Alberta, Essex Financial Services – which is now Travelers Financial (Alberta) Corp.

We continue to take advantage of opportunities for growth and have a consistent track record of increasing sales and market share as each operating company within Travelers Financial Group serves the financial needs of its clients.

Equipment Finance 

Travelers Financial Corporation is headquartered in Vancouver, with branch offices in Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon. By annual originations and geographic presence, Travelers is the largest independent equipment leasing company in the West and specializes in offering leasing programs through equipment dealers — allowing them to bundle financing with their equipment sales opportunities. Travelers specialize in “mid-ticket” transactions that typically range in size from $50,000 to $500,000, and refer “small ticket” transactions under $50,000 to a specialized Head Office function. The asset mix is generally comprised of commercial trucks and trailers, truck cranes, equipment for the oil & gas industry, construction equipment, forestry equipment, manufacturing equipment and other commercial/industrial assets. Travelers is a highly competitive source of capital for equipment leasing and financing. 

Consumer Finance

Travelers Acceptance Corporation provides solutions and services specifically tailored to vendors of consumer products and services - including education, automotive aftermarket and repair, timeshare, home improvement, healthcare, memberships, consumer durables and power products.

Head office is located in Vancouver with representatives throughout Canada.
